![]() ![]() Source code management, also called version control, keeps track of every change made to your code. In this meeting we will learn about one of the most important tools in programming, after an editor and the compiler of course. The goal of the next few meetings is to learn what these tools are for the domain of programming and how to use representative versions of them. Tools amplify your skills and talents and are often found outside your IDE - Visual Studio and XCode are great, but it is not the only tool or the best tool for all jobs. They also are constantly on the lookout for better tools and in some cases build their own. People who really care about their craft know what the best tools are and how to use them. No matter your preferred analogy for programming - engineering, construction, gardening, art - each has a set of tools that should be mastered to produce the best product.
